http://www.avaaz.org/en/petition/Save_Londons_school_fields/?bSrJpcb&v=17158 “The taxpayer picks up the tab”

Avaaz just sent me a petition to protest the sell-off of school playing fields.

My first reaction was what difference does it make if they’re sold off before the schools are privatised, or after.

But I forgot the basic principle of privatisation: “The taxpayer picks up the tab”.

So sell off the fields after privatisation and the privateer gets it in the neck.

Sell off now and a “dead man walking” Gov’t takes the hit:

Plus, after privatisation, the privateer can demand, with contrived public support, that Gov’t (i.e. the taxpayer) picks up the tab for the hire of sports facilities and taxi fares to enable sports access, as┬ádemanded by Gov’t.
