Hail the wisdom of Judge Martin Steiger. Can a contemptible judgement lead to contempt of court?

It seems that in British Law, it is a great sin to drive a car when over the limit and, therefore, in the eyes of the Law (and many strident moralists) drunk.

This is a great sin, punishable by public, as well as private (car insurance premiums) fines, even when no-one has been hurt

But it is only a minor sin to cause an uproar, tip over wheelie bins and then kick another man senseless and near to death.

So says Judge Martin Steiger.
